The iPad is not a mobile device says Mark Zuckerberg so there will be no Facebook app for iPad. Well, the folks behind Facepad have a different idea.
The interface is appealing and reminds me of the Twitter app which handles slide on slide off content in a similar manner but the Twitter app does it with more elegance.
Facepad is a good idea for those who insist on a Facebook app for their iPad. It looks good and the interface is fun to use. This app however, still needs some work. For starters, it only works in Landscape mode. Content sliding in often hesitates or crashes, a prime example is the comment page which almost always crashes before it opens fully. I found I could force it to open by holding my finger on the page until the form loaded..not an ideal situation. Some videos, with no particular pattern crash the slide on or in some cases, crashes Facepad completely.
I like the look of this app and think it has great promise but it still needs work. I hope the developer is on it.
Facepad is available for free at the Apple App Store
