Microsoft Kinect for Xbox 360 hot.

Microsoft announced Monday that it had sold a million Kinect add-ons for Xbox 360 worldwide in the 10 days since it went on sale. Don Mattrick, president of the Interactive Entertainment Business at Microsoft says “This is a great start to the holiday season, and we will continue to work with our retailer partners to keep pace with high demand and deliver against our plan to sell more than 5 million Kinect sensors worldwide by the end of this year.”

There is a real buzz around Kinect says Chris Homeister, senior vice president and general manager of the home entertainment group at Best Buy.  “Thousands are trying it for themselves in our stores every day, and we expect Kinect to be one of the must-have gifts at Best Buy this holiday.”

I spent yesterday morning trying most of the games available for Kinect as well as a few that will be here in time for Christmas.

Kinect is quite a departure in the way we play games and I really enjoyed the experience.

Watch for a hands on review in the coming days.

We decided to go for the “Move” experience with our PS3. In the end what really matters are the games. Both systems will deliver, but I like the Move’s accuracy and buttons…can’t play my type of games without them…I think!?! How do you shoot with the Kinect?? It’s also pricey.

Sony is about the gaming first where Microsoft is about the user experience. In the end the real winner is all of us as both systems will provide awesome gaming experiences. Too bad that Nintendo lost out on this round because they started it all and showed us it was possible.
